Open garden event

Stimulated by a talk on the railway by Society member Dr. John Willis at the recent Conwy Valley Civic Society AGM, a local resident, offered to host an Open Garden event at their gardens in Rowen, to support the Society in their efforts to raise funds.

This will be taking place on Saturday 17th August from 3pm to 5pm at Gilfach, a locally well-known very varied private garden. Entrance £5, which will include refreshments with a good selection of home-made cakes to choose from. Dr Willis said, “We very much appreciate this generosity in making their garden available to support the Society’s efforts and their help with organising this event.”

To reach the garden, coming from the Conwy direction take theB5106 direction Llanrwst. Take the right turn immediately after the Groes Hotel, and follow this lane to Rowen. Final direction notices will be displayed on this lane. From Llanrwst take the B5106 towards Conwy, and after passing through Tal y Bont turn left after Caerhun Church, and Caerhun Farm. Again notices will be placed along this lane in the vicinity of Rowen.
