Further progress with the platform...

Over the last few weeks, work on the platform has advanced rapidly. All sleepers have been installed in the uprights to form the face of the platform. This has allowed us to begin the back-filling process to form the platform itself.

This photo shows the actual process of lowering a sleeper into position.

The backfilling process. The 'mound' that was behind the sleeper wall has now been used to fill out the platform to create a base for the surface. There will be another layer of material spread on top of this, before the final surface can be laid.
